Decree 55/2024/ND-CP, issued by the Government on May 16, 2024, provides guidance on the Law on Consumer Rights Protection. This decree, effective from July 1, 2024, outlines the general requirements for consumer contracts, standard form contracts, and general transaction terms.

According to Article 6 of Decree 55/2024/ND-CP, consumer contracts, standard form contracts, and general transaction terms must meet the following requirements:
Language: The contract must be in Vietnamese, with the option to include additional languages as agreed upon under Clause 2, Article 23 of the Law on Consumer Rights Protection. (Specifically, Clause 2, Article 23 of the Law on Consumer Rights Protection states that the language and format of consumer contracts, standard form contracts, and general transaction terms must be clear and understandable. The primary language must be Vietnamese, but parties can agree to include other Vietnamese ethnic languages or foreign languages. In case of discrepancies between the Vietnamese version and other versions, the version more favorable to the consumer will take precedence.)
Font Size: For written contracts, the minimum font size is 12 in Times New Roman or an equivalent font.
Contrast: The text color and background color must contrast to ensure readability.
Layout: The document must be clearly structured and easy to follow.
Content: The content must be clear, understandable, and comply with the legal provisions on consumer rights protection.
